New Second Hand Smoke Awareness Campaign

Today, the New Mexico Department of Health announced collaborations with the Boys & Girls Clubs in Farmington, Roswell, and Carlsbad on a secondhand smoke awareness campaign that targets parents, family, and friends of youth who may be exposing their children and families to secondhand smoke in homes and cars. The campaign is called “Kids for Smoke-Free Air Challenge”.
“Tobacco is still very much a challenge to overcome in New Mexico,” said Department of Health Cabinet Secretary Lynn Gallagher. “According to the 2014 Report of the US Surgeon General, there is no safe amount of secondhand smoke.”
